A fun day out in Kommetjie with events from sunrise to sunset for the whole family!

The annual Kommetjie Festival celebrates the unique spirit of our vibrant community. Our mission is to bring together residents of all ages in a joyful, inclusive, and safe environment to foster a sense of belonging and togetherness.
Events include yoga and dance, dress-up tennis and surfing contests, a sandcastle building competition, beach volleyball, and the “Anything that Floats” race on the Kom with prizes for kids, adults and most creative float.
All funds raised by the festival are used to support our community and enhance the quality of life in Kommetjie.
Together, we are building a stronger, more vibrant Kommetjie.
Location
The event takes place throughout the village, a few key addresses:
- Long Beach (surf contest, sand castle building, volleyball): 1 Surf Way, Kommetjie
- Tennis: 18 Kirsten Avenue, Kommetjie
- Anything that Floats: 14 Beach Road, Kommetjie
- After Party at Fishermans: 16 Somerset Way, Kommetjie
